Sit and stand strollers sound like a contradiction to me. When I started doing my research I was unaware they existed. I’ve learned two children can ride on it. One on the rear standing board and one in the child seat.
The Joovy Caboose (reviewed here) offers a rear seat whereas the Mia Moda Campagno (also reviewed here) does not.
If you’re like me you know from experience that children can’t simply sit still where ever they go. Their world is dynamic. They like to look around, stand, touch stuff. Their motto…

So, how do you keep the wee one occupied? Take that frustrating problem and turn it into a win/win for you and your child.
I offer the “sit and stand” stroller. These could also be considered double strollers because they’re capable of transporting two children. One standing and one sitting.
Two I’ve found are the Campagno by Mia Moda and the Caboose Ultralight by Joovy.

Campagno Mia Moda
From Italian maker Mia Moda, the Compagno is a sit or stand stroller that takes a more stylish, yet, practical approach. It features an easy one-hand fold design and a one-touch rear brake (the brake is accessable to either foot and locks both sides). A 5-point safety harness for the maximum in security for your little one provides the optimum in peace of mind for you. A steel frame assures years of use
The three position recline lets your child sit upright, relax at an angle, or lie flat. the “all wheel ride suspension” delivers a comfortable ride for your child (Editors note: well alright, they’re really just fancy springs). For families with a toddler and baby/infant you can let your toddler use the standing board in back while your infant rides in front.
Top the package off with a canopy and sun visor and you have a stroller that provides safety and comfort in one very fashionable model.
Joovy Ultralight
The Joovy Caboose Ultralight takes your sit & stand stroller experience to whole new levels. “Weighing in” at only 20 lbs, it nevertheless offers an aluminum frame sturdy enough to stand and bounce on without worry (Editors note: I wouldn’t recommend that “bounce on thing”). With a patented rear platform, capable of supporting 90 pounds, you need never worry about it collapsing under your child. The sealed ball-bearing wheels ensure a smooth, stable ride.
The available universal car seat adapter is compatible with 12 different infant car seats, such as the Chicco Key Fit, the Britax Companion, the Eddie Bauer Designer 22, and many more. There are other convenience features, as well.
The adjustable and lockable padded rear bench seat lets the standing child sit to rest a while. From there your little one can easily access the child tray with two cup holders. You have a storage basket with elastic sides within easy reach, too. When you’re done with the stroller, the “Easy Trigger” fold feature makes it easy to collapse for storage.
The Joovy Caboose also offers a Neoprene Cool Essentials Parent Organizer (sold seperately) so you can easily take everything you need on your trip around town. All wheels have sealed ball bearing hubs attached to a sturdy aluminum frame. The unusually large canopy provides ratcheting adjustments for easy positioning.
Now, from the pictures of the Joovy Caboose I’ve seen I’m not sure it would be right for me. It looks like there’s not a way for the standing child to safely hang on. The handles are on the side, rather than to the front of the child. This seems unnatural to me.
That said, I do like the rear seat for the second child. Though it looks like they could be uncomfortable with a child car seat in place.
